General Notes
  • This is a generic (aka "Hermes") cover, the PMG produced the cacheted envelopes and post offices or collectors affixed stamps. There were two era's of Hermes covers. The early (pre-50's) was a simple blue-lined cachet. This may have been for a single issue 10th May 1937. The later (50's/60's) featured a more complex and coloured design, with a shield, triangle, and FIRST DAY COVER scroll. There were different colour combinations. These were blank envelopes and any combination of stamps may be found on them.
